This year, at the 9th meeting between patrol officers and HGV drivers, particular attention will be paid to the safety corridor – a provision included in the Highway Code since 2018 – which requires drivers to move away, where possible, from any vehicle stationary on the hard shoulder.
A specific prevention workshop will be organised using a model that allows drivers to simulate the situation when approaching an emergency vehicle, accompanied by a short video. The aim: to reinforce or learn the correct reflexes!
In addition, as physical exercise helps to keep the mind alert, workshops open to everyone will be run by the team at Maliceo:
- Mobility workshop to refresh good habits regarding stretching, movement and flexibility,
- Prevention workshop to check correct movements and posture at the wheel.
Finally, as with every edition on the A63 in the Landes region, this mutual commitment to the safety of the officers working on the motorway and that of drivers will be symbolised by the joint patrol officer–driver photo and by the personalised T-shirt given away! As a sign of the importance of this commitment, the campaign T-shirt is made in Portugal from organic cotton in conversion by Native Spirit.
